Antonio Fernández Anta has been appointed Research Professor at IMDEA Networks. He is a long-standing member of the Madrid research institute, having incorporated to the team in September 2010. His outstanding track record in his previous role of Research Associate Professor has now been rewarded with this promotion. Over the last 3 years he has authored over 60 publications in reputed journals and conferences. He is also currently leading the Institute’s involvement in several research projects (CLOUDS, ORÁCULO, ÁBACO, GREEN NETWORK and E2NET), supervising a group of PhD Students and a member of the Steering Committee of three of the top events in computer networking research: the International Symposium on Distributed Computing (DISC) (Chair), the International Conference on Principles of Distributed Systems (OPODIS) and the ACM International Conference on Future Energy Systems (e-Energy).
Research Professors are IMDEA Networks most published and cited researchers and they occupy a position of leadership within the research team. Their expertise and research interests have a significant bearing on the Institute’s scientific output and on the careers of their charges. Fernández Anta is a recognized and respected researcher in the fields of Communications and Networks, Distributed Computing, Algorithms, and Discrete and Applied Mathematics, whose wealth of experience and drive towards excellence shall continue to impact the Institute’s future in the years to come.
