IMDEA Networks in ABC: Innovation and leadership in Leganés

The newspaper ABC published an article titled “Leganés, the city where vital and professional projects take shape,” highlighting the key role of IMDEA Networks as an example of innovation in the region.

The article emphasizes our work as a cutting-edge research institute, with a special focus on telecommunications technologies such as 5G and 6G. It also highlights our contributions through the 5TONIC laboratory, a joint effort with Telefónica that exemplifies public-private collaboration in the Community of Madrid.

The article states: “The research team at the center, currently led by Albert Banchs, has received various accolades for their work on networks, security and privacy in the digital space, sustainability, etc., through projects funded by regional and national grants, as well as EU funding. This is a remarkable example of elite talent attraction from diverse nationalities to the Community of Madrid and, specifically, to Leganés.”

The publication acknowledges our close relationship with UC3M and our involvement in the clusters of the Community of Madrid, contributing to R&D&I deployment and direct technology transfer to society.
