The IMDEA institutes have been described as “the magnificent seven” of R&D+i in the Community of Madrid in a new book published by Madridiario: The social MADRID: foundations and CSR (published in Spanish as “El MADRID social: fundaciones y RSC”).

The book, which was officially presented during the award ceremony of the XVII edition of the Madrid 2019 Awards held last April 29th, includes a detailed chapter on the IMDEA initiative, which highlights the extraordinary contribution made by the seven IMDEA institutes to the development of advanced science and technology made in Madrid since their foundation over a decade ago.

In the chapter on IMDEA Networks, El MADRID social: fundaciones y RSC focuses its attention on the profound socio-economic impact of the area of knowledge IMDEA Networks operates in. The book points out the Institute’s contributions towards the development of leading communications and networks technology and considers it “one of the leading research institutes in networking science in the world”. It also highlights the continued work carried out by IMDEA Networks to boost the competitiveness of the Madrid region in the field of technology, helping to improve the quality of its high-tech production through collaboration with local companies.
