Aymen Fakhreddine, new PhD Student

Aymen Fakhreddine has become a member of our research team. He will be working as a PhD Student from September 2013.

Prior to his incorporation to IMDEA Networks, Aymen undertook a Master of Science in Advanced Wireless Communications Systems at Supélec in Gif-sur-Yvette (École Supérieure d’Électricité), in France. During a 6 month internship at Alcatel-Lucent Bell Labs France, he developed his MSc thesis, focusing his research on LTE mobility optimization. In collaboration with his team in Bell Labs, he proposed a mathematical solution for a distributive and fully autonomous joint optimization of handover parameters in a dense network of Small Cells.

Aymen FAKHREDDINE was born in Casablanca (Morocco). After two years of preparatory classes in Mathematics and Physics for the competitive examinations to Moroccan and French “Grandes Ecoles” for scientific studies in Lycée Moulay Youssef, Rabat (Morocco), he entered the “Institut National des Postes et Télécommunications” in Rabat where he received his Engineering Degree in Telecommunications in 2012. In parallel, he was an exchange student at Supélec , where he also received the aforementioned master’s degree.

At present, his main research interests are Indoor localization and WLANs.
