Marco Ajmone Marsan, appointed Director of Italian Alta Scuola Politecnica

Marco Ajmone Marsan has been appointed Director of the Alta Scuola Politecnica (ASP), in Italy. He heads an Executive Board consisting of 8 professors of Politecnico di Milano and Politecnico di Torino that oversees the activities of the ASP. His appointment was made official on October 2013 and will conclude on September 2016.

Marco holds a double appointment as Research Professor at IMDEA Networks and Full Professor at the Department of Electronics (Dipartimento di Elettronica) of the Politecnico di Torino (Polytechnic University of Turin) (Italy). He is the founder of the Telecommunication Networks Group, one of the top research groups in networking in Europe, based at that university.

Currently his main research interest is in energy-efficient networking, and in the applications of ICT for energy efficiency. IMDEA Networks has a research line open on this area.
