The University Carlos III of Madrid (UC3M) is the second best Spanish University in the discipline of “Telecommunications”, according to the I-UGR ranking published by the University of Granada. This classification belongs to the five-year period 2009-2013. UC3M obtained the third best score for a Spanish university in the category "Computer Science & Information Systems" considered globally, according to the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2014.

As an outcome of its commitment to internationalization and research, the Madrid-based University has in place a broad-scope cooperation agreement with the international research institute IMDEA Networks, which includes the provision of a bilingual Ph.D. program in Telematics for its multinational team of aspiring scientific investigators. Most of the Institute's Pre-Doc Researchers join the ranks of doctorate candidates at UCM3, leveraging the high levels of academic internationalization and bilingualism already attained by that university.
