04 November 2013

Georgios Katsikas has become a member of our PhD Students’ team. He has commenced work on October 2013 under the supervision of Dr. Dejan Kostić, Research Associate Professor at the Institute.

Prior to his incorporation to IMDEA Networks, and from April 2010 to September 2013, Georgios has been a research fellow in the Self-Evolving Cognitive and Autonomic Networking (SCAN) Group at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). As part of that research team he participated in several EU-funded ICT projects.

Some of his scientific results have already obtained recognition, having been published in various conferences and journals. The publication Learning Enhanced Environment Perception for Cooperative Power Control* ranked among the best papers presented at the Fifth International Conference on Mobile Ubiquitous Computing, Systems, Services and Technologies (UBICOMM 2011) and it received an invitation for extended journal publication. A full list of his papers with SCAN is available at the group’s website.

Georgios obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc. (with honors, ranked 1st in the class) degrees from the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of NKUA in 2010 and 2012, respectively.

His main research interests include Distributed Systems, Software-defined Networks and Software Engineering.
