Children's apps steal personal information from minors

15 December 2017

Researchers from Berkeley (USA) and IMDEA Networks (Madrid, Spain) reveal that some ‘apps’ identify users, their location, phone number and name. Many of them capture information before obtaining consent and use it for publicity.

An article published by journalist Carmen Jané at the Spanish news media «El Periódico» dwells on collaborative research work by Narseo Vallina-Rodríguez, a Research Assistant Professor at IMDEA Networks Institute who is also affiliated with the International Computer Science Institute (ICSI) in Berkeley, about breaches to privacy associated to the use of mobile apps by minors.
