The purpose of the Juan de la Cierva grant is to encourage the employment of young doctors for a period of two years to complete their postdoctoral research training in Spanish R&D centers other than those in which they carried out their predoctoral training.

Until 2022, this call was referred to as “Juan de la Cierva-Formación”.

Since 2020, the call has received funds from the Next-Generation-EU Progam as part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), under Component 17, Investment 04.
