The purpose of the Juan de la Cierva grant is to encourage the employment of young doctors for a period of two years to complete their postdoctoral research training in Spanish R&D centers other than those in which they carried out their predoctoral training.

Until 2022, this call was referred to as “Juan de la Cierva-Formación”.

 

In addition to the funding from the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities and the National Agency of Research (MICIU/AEI), several calls has been cofinanced by the European Union through different programmes:

  • 2023 call is cofinanced by the European Social Fund Plus Program (ESF+).

  • 2022 call was financed by the Recovery and Resilience Facility (NextGenerationEU) through the Spanish Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR).
