Wireless Networks on SoCs (WNS) subgroup undertake research on the design of high-speed embedded systems with special focus on FPGA-based systems. The group faces the challenges of implementing beyond 5G and 6G systems on real devices, with applications ranging from Integrated Sensing and Communication, ML-based physical layer, wideband mmWave MIMO implementation and multiband systems.
MIMORPH is a highly configurable wireless platform that is implemented on a single state-of-the-art FPGA board. MIMORPH can be run in two different platforms (Xilinx RFSoC ZCU111 and ZCU208). Given its memory-based design, the platform can be used to transmit and receive signals with arbitrary structure, making it ideal for experimentation involving not only standard compliant signals but also new algorithms, packet formats and waveform designs.
