IMDEA Networks’ Wireless Networking Group headed by Prof. Joerg Widmer invites applications for a postdoc position in the area of integrated sensing and communications (ISAC). The post-doctoral researcher will work on all aspects of sensing (e.g., signal processing for angle estimation, ranging, Doppler extraction, ISAC resource allocation tradeoffs, challenges of large-scale deployments, wireless location systems, multi-modal sensing, machine learning for sensing, etc.) at millimeter-wave and sub-6 GHz frequencies. As a member of the wireless team, the researcher will be involved in cutting edge research and experimental work as well as close interaction with PhD students.

Skills Required

  • Strong background in wireless communications, wireless sensing, and radar
  • Very good publication record in top academic conferences and journals
  • Excellent analytical, technical and problem-solving skills
  • Interest in mentoring graduate students
  • Very good organization and communication skills

Academic Qualifications

  • PhD in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field

Experience

  • Experience in building systems and experimental work in the area of wireless networking and sensing

Contract Duration and Type

  • 3-year full-time contract. Includes social and health benefits.
