The Networks Data Science group (http://nds.networks.imdea.org/) at IMDEA Networks Institute has an opening for one PhD student in the area of mobile network metadata analysis. The successful candidate will analyze service-level demands collected in an operational 4G/5G network, and explore their dynamics in presence of large-scale social events. To his end, the PhD student will have privileged access to measurement datasets from a leading operator, and to a big data analysis platform with substantial compute resources for their processing via Apache Spark. The candidate will continue the long track record of the NDS group in producing new knowledge of and modeling approaches for the spatial, temporal and service-level dynamics of real-world mobile traffic [1-4].
Inquiries on the position can be directed to the thesis supervisor, Dr. Marco Fiore, via email at marco.fiore@imdea.org.
Candidates shall submit by the call deadline a CV, a motivation letter, and the contact details of two references through the IMDEA Networks Institute hiring portal, at https://careers.networks.imdea.org/.
