PhD position in Localization of non-collaborative transmitters and their pattern of movements

The IMDEA Networks Institute offers one fully funded PhD position in the area of Positioning of non-collaborative transmitters and their pattern of movements. The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing activities of the Pervasive Wireless Systems Group, in the framework of MSCA SpecX Project.

Research objectives:

Feature extraction and distributed algorithms to localise any wireless transmitter in mobile environments that does not collaborate (passive positioning), and its implementation in cellular infrastructure. Extraction of analytics from multiple target users.

The position requires:

• an MSc degree in Computer Science, Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related fields, with a solid academic record
• excellent programming skills
• experience in signal processing, localization theory, machine learning, applied optimisation
• fluency in written and spoken English
• enthusiasm for interdisciplinary research.
