In this seminar, one of the members of our Alumni Network, Dr. Elli Zavou, will take stock of her experience after achieving her PhD.

About Elli Zavou

Elli Zavou is an alumni of IMDEA Networks Institute and holds a first degree in Computer Science (University of Cyprus), MSc and PhD degrees in Telematics Engineering (University Carlos III of Madrid, Spain). She was an FPU scholar during her doctoral training, where she focused on the fundamentals of online scheduling in distributed systems prone to failures. She expanded her researcher experience with a Postdoctoral period at INRIA Rhône-Alps, Lyon, studying algorithms for the anonymization of mobile network customer trajectories, and she is currently working at a BigData company on practical and motivating projects, combining her algorithmic fascination with the intriguing advancements of Big Data that impact our society.
