Prof. Zhiyong Liu, Ph.D., Professor, The Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China

External Presentation (External Speaker)

With rapid development of networks and their proliferated applications, energy consumption of the networks has been a major concern for both network design, management, and applications. Routing protocols and algorithms have important effect on network energy consumption. Energy efficient routing for greening networks has attracted a great deal of research effort. In this talk, I will report to the audience some results on energy efficient routing techniques. In particular, I will talk about HDEER, a distributed routing scheme. I will introduce the principle model for energy efficient routing, the distributed two-stage routing scheme, the routing algorithms of the routing scheme, as well as its implementation. I will also present the experimental results and performance evaluations.
