IMDEA Networks is participating in the 15th edition of the Madrid is Science Fair, a science outreach event organized by the Fundación para el Conocimiento Madri+d and aimed at both the school community and the general public.
At our stand, you can interactively explore how the technologies that power our digital world actually work.
Learn in a fun way how AM radio works and explore electromagnetic wave phenomena using a state-of-the-art 60 GHz radar, which can detect a person’s presence and distance by showing in real time how the waves are reflected.
You will also be able to see how information can be transmitted using light. In one of our demonstrations, a small laser will send messages encoded as ones and zeros through the air to a receiver located several meters away, showing live how light can carry digital information. We will also present a demonstration of live video streaming using visible light, illustrating new possibilities for future wireless communications.
We also challenge you to test your skills with artificial intelligence games to detect bias in language models, and discover the secrets of blockchain. You will also learn how the Dijkstra’s algorithm works to find the shortest path in a network, for example, between a content server from Netflix and your television.
We look forward to seeing you there!
