IMDEA Networks is participating in the 11th Madrid is Science Fair, a science outreach event aimed at school communities and the general public organized by the Madri+d Knowledge Foundation. The Institute will present two interactive demos. The first one will show a sustainable wireless communication device without batteries, which works with LiFi technology. In addition, visitors will participate in a blockchain-secured voting website.

All IMDEA institutes will participate in this fair, in a specific booth where informative activities will take place from Wednesday, March 2 to Saturday, March 5. IMDEA Networks activities will take place on Wednesday, March 2nd, and Thursday, March 3rd from 10 am to 8 pm.

This event aims to encourage scientific vocations by eliminating gender barriers, communicating the science and innovation that is carried out in our region, stimulating the interest and curiosity of young people for science, and showing how research influences economic development and the welfare of society.

The entire value chain of talent in the Region of Madrid -from educational centers to research centers and innovative companies, including Madrid’s universities and institutions- will be represented at IFEMA from March 2 to 5 so that all the people of Madrid can learn how Science, Technology, and Innovation favor the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the celebration of the International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development.

The Madrid is Science 2022 Fair aims to showcase the excellence of our region in Science, Technology, and Innovation, inviting the people of Madrid to be part of the processes by which science is created and transmitted. A space to experiment, create, discover and share.
