Biography

Ramón Girona is the General Manager of IMDEA Networks Institute, where he leads the organization’s operational strategy, institutional management, and continuous improvement initiatives, supporting one of Europe’s leading research centers in networking and digital technologies.

With more than 25 years of international experience in business management, digital transformation, operations, and technology governance, he has held leadership and consulting roles in multinational organizations including Philip Morris International, Altadis, Repsol, Iberdrola, BBVA, and Abengoa. Throughout his career, he has directed complex transformation programs, portfolio management initiatives, process optimization projects, and organizational change efforts across both the public and private sectors.

Ramón holds degrees in Industrial Engineering and Computer Science, as well as an MBA. He has completed the Supply Chain Management MicroMasters® Program from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology thru Coursera MITX. He is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP®) and Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP®), and has extensive experience as a lecturer and trainer in project management, business analysis, and technology management.

His work combines strategic vision, operational excellence, and a strong commitment to innovation, helping organizations enhance performance, efficiency, and long-term sustainability.
