Biography

My name is Michele Simeone, and I’m an Italian Ph.D. student currently working at IMDEA Networks Institute in Madrid, Spain. I am part of the OAL (Opportunistic Architectures Lab) research group, where I focus on applying Artificial Intelligence techniques to wireless network systems.

I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Automatic Engineering at Sapienza University of Rome in 2022, and later pursued my Master’s degree at Politecnico di Milano in 2025.
During my Master’s, I deepened my knowledge in Machine Learning, Reinforcement Learning, and Natural Language Processing, developing a strong foundation in AI and its applications.

My current Ph.D. project is funded by the prestigious MSCA (Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions) program. The goal of the project is to integrate AI techniques into wireless networks composed of heterogeneous users, with a special focus on fairness and equity.
I’m particularly interested in how intelligent systems can make wireless networks more adaptive, inclusive, and efficient, ensuring that performance is balanced across diverse user profiles. My work bridges theoretical models and real-world applications, aiming to build network infrastructures that are not only smarter but also more equitable.
