IMDEA Networks is one of the beneficiaries of the “Plan de Promoción de los Estudios de Telecomunicación” funded by UNICO 5G I+D 2021 call, also known as TelecoRenta.

TelecoRenta is a joint initiative gathering 12 Spanish public Universities and Research centers with recognized experience in teaching and training telecommunication engineers. The plan targets a varied list of actions to promote and disseminate the telecommunication studies in Spain among very different levels of students (from primary shool until PhD students) in order to improve the talent attraction, with a special emphasis in female and international talent. Some of these activities include, among others, the provision of technological kits to be used in schools, courses and workshops, social media campaigns, educational games or presence in key education fairs and top scientific and industrial conferences in the area.

It also involves other key actors such as COIT (Colegio Oficial de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación) who acts as Coordiantor of the Plan, RAI (Real Academia de la Ingenieria) and other collaborating companies and schools.

This project is funded by the Spanish Ministry of Digital Transformation and Civil Service, the Spanish Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR) and the European Union-NextGenerationEU.
