System Administrator position in the IT Support

Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to join our IT Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our servers, network infrastructure. The position involves working with high-performance computing clusters, implementing and managing Windows Active Directory

Key Responsibilities

• Managing and maintaining complex server and network infrastructure
• Overseeing OpenHPC and OpenNebula clusters, ensuring system security, optimizing performance
• Managing Windows Active Directory,
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Collaborate with the IT team to support ongoing projects and initiatives
• Ensure system security and perform regular maintenance and updates.
• Provide technical support to end-users and resolve IT-related issues.

The position requires:

• Experience with any kind of virtualization software such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, or open-source solutions like KVM or Xen
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with both Windows and Linux operating systems, as virtualization often involves managing VMs running different OSs
• Ability to implement and maintain robust security measures, conduct regular maintenance and updates, and ensure compliance with industry best practices.
• Proven ability to proactively monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and troubleshoot issues.
• Experience implementing and managing Windows Active Directory.
• Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or Red Hat, Microsoft Certified… can be beneficial
• A bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, engineering, or a related discipline is often required

This position could be co-financed by INES project (TSI-064100-2023-34), funded by the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Civil Service and the European Union-NextGenerationEU through the Spanish Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR) under UNICO I+D 6G call.
