The IAG group at IMDEA Networks is looking for a junior research engineer to join our international team in developing and enhancing our software analysis platform developed as part of the Horizon Europe project TRUST aWARE (https://trustaware.eu/).

The TRUST aAWARE platform leverages state-of-the-art software analysis and privacy-enhancing technologies to examine the behavior of an executable to detect potential security and privacy risks, including those caused by third-party components. The current testing pipeline uses novel static and dynamic analysis techniques.

The candidate will assist the research team in augmenting the capabilities of the testing pipeline, enhancing the scalability of the testing methods and in integration aspects, so that other TRUST aWARE submodules can send tasks and receive results from the testing pipeline. The candidate will collaborate closely with the research team.

The candidate will gain first-hand practical and research experience in enhancing and transferring-to-practice cutting-edge technology. It is an ideal opportunity for junior software engineers and developers interested in obtaining research experience.

Requirements:

– Bs.C. or Ms.C in Computer Science or related areas

– Good programming skills in languages such as python, Java and Javascript / typescript.

– Experience working with data types such as JSON and in back-end design and development.

– Good understanding of mobile app architecture and development

– Familiarity with shell environments and command line tools such as SSH and Git.

– English language fluency is a must.

Nice-to-haves

– Knowledge working with web frameworks in Python (Flask, Django, etc).

– Basic knowledge on code analysis and reverse engineering of Android applications.

– Experience with programming languages like bash or awk.

– Experience reading and understanding network captures
