Research Engineer and System Administrator Position

The candidate will work in the NETCOM-lab research Group, led by Albert Banchs.

The NETCOM-lab Group is looking for a research engineer and System Administrator to join its research effort on large research infrastructures. The research engineer will work under the supervision of Albert Banchs and Ignacio Berberana. The research engineer will be in charge of deploying, configuring and programming a large research infrastructure, including a portal to collect requests of use from external researchers. The research engineer will also be in charge of helping researchers to deploy research experiments, performing analysis of research data, and administering the equipment of the SLICES-Mad research infrastructure.

Skills Required

The position requires competences in:

  • Programming in Python, Python, Java, C, CSS, Javascript, C++ and other high-level languages.
  • Web site programming.
  • Statistical knowledge for data analysis.
  • Linux system administration.
  • Network administration.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Knowledge on electrical cabling and power meters.

Academic Qualifications

  •  Bachelor in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
