Postdoc Researcher position in Secure Quantum Networking

IMDEA Networks Institute invites applications for research positions in the intersection between cybersecurity and quantum networks to devise methods to understand the threat landscape and mitigations of quantum networks. The selected candidate will become a member of the Internet Analytics and Cybersecurity group led by Dr. Narseo Vallina-Rodriguez and Dr. Guillermo Suarez-Tangil.

Quantum networks are a new communication paradigm that will coexist with traditional networks and technologies. As a result, quantum networks not only can be vulnerable to new types of threats but also to vulnerabilities arising from the careless integration of these two communication paradigms. This post will aim at adopting security principles when defining the new quantum protocol stack and architecture, particularly for enabling seamless and secure integration between traditional and quantum paradigms.

The position requires:

• A PhD. in Computer Science, Networking, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a track academic record
• Solid understanding of Quantum Mechanics as well as foundational notions of Quantum Information Theory.
• Strong background in cybersecurity.
• Background in statistical learning or data analysis.
• Research-oriented programming skills in the area of quantum computing.
• Proficiency in English

Contract Duration and Type:

• Initially one year, with the prospect of extending it for another one.
• Competitive salary. The candidate’s experience will be considered.
