IMDEA Networks Institute invites applications for research positions in the intersection between cybersecurity and quantum networks to devise methods to understand the threat landscape and mitigations of quantum networks. The selected candidate will become a member of the Internet Analytics and Cybersecurity group led by Dr. Narseo Vallina-Rodriguez and Dr. Guillermo Suarez-Tangil.
Quantum networks are a new communication paradigm that will coexist with traditional networks and technologies. As a result, quantum networks not only can be vulnerable to new types of threats but also to vulnerabilities arising from the careless integration of these two communication paradigms. This post will aim at adopting security principles when defining the new quantum protocol stack and architecture, particularly for enabling seamless and secure integration between traditional and quantum paradigms.

This position could be cofounded by the project MADQuantum-CM: Quantum Communication in the Autonomous Region of Madrid, belonging to the Quantum Communication Complementary Plan funded by the Regional Government of Madrid, the Spanish State through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, and the European Union through the NextGeneration EU funds.
