The Networks Data Science group (http://nds.networks.imdea.org/) at IMDEA Networks Institute has an opening for one PostDoc Researcher in the area of mobile network traffic analysis.
The successful candidate will analyze massive Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and service-level demands collected in operational 4G/5G networks, and draw insights on their dynamics and long-term evolution as the 5G technology becomes more pervasive in terms of both deployment and user adoption.
Novel tools from AI will be explored to model the spatiotemporal patterns of user demands and produce reliable open datasets and what-if test scenarios.
For all such activities, the PhD student will enjoy privileged access to Terabytes of large-scale measurements from leading operators, to an Apache Spark platform with substantial big data processing capabilities, and to high-end GPU servers.
The candidate is expected to contribute to the long track record of the group in producing new knowledge of and modeling approaches for the spatial, temporal and service-level dynamics of real-world mobile traffic, along with their implications for production-grade network operations and beyond [1-11].
Inquiries on the position can be directed to the group head, Dr. Marco Fiore, via email at marco.fiore@imdea.org.
Candidates shall submit by the call deadline a CV, a motivation letter, and the contact details of two references through the IMDEA Networks Institute hiring portal, at https://careers.networks.imdea.org/.
