IMDEA Networks Institute invites applications for Post-doctoral positions in the intersection between cybersecurity and quantum networks to devise methods to understand the threat landscape and mitigations in today’s quantum networks and beyond. The selected candidate will become a member of the Internet Analytics and Cybersecurity groups led by Dr. Narseo Vallina-Rodriguez and Dr. Guillermo Suarez-Tangil.

The position requires:

•  A Ph.D. in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a track academic record. Candidates in the last year of their Ph.D. program are also encouraged to apply.
•  Solid understanding of Quantum Mechanics as well as foundational notions of Quantum Information Theory or Cryptography.
•  Knowledge in Data Analysis will be positively evaluated.
•  Proficiency in English.

Contract Duration and Type:

•    Initially one year, with the prospect of extending it for another one.
•    Competitive salary. The candidate’s experience will be considered.
•    Full-time contract. Includes social and health benefits.

This contract is cofounded by the project MADQuantum-CM: Quantum Communication in the Autonomous Region of Madrid, belonging to the Quantum Communication Complementary Plan funded by the Regional Government of Madrid, the Spanish State through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, and the European Union through the NextGeneration EU funds.
