The Networks Data Science group (http://nds.networks.imdea.org/) at IMDEA Networks Institute has an opening for one Postdoctoral fellow in the area of applied machine learning (ML) to mobile network systems, with a starting date in early 2024. The successful candidate will contribute to the ongoing activities of the NDS group on developing, implementing and demonstrating ML solutions for varied tasks (including traffic classification, anomaly detection and telemetry for sensing applications) in the user plane of next-generation 6G networks [1-3].
In particular, the postdoctoral fellow will take a lead role in the participation of IMDEA Networks Institute in a large collaborative research project funded by the European Commission and involving major players in the telecommunication ecosystem, such as Telefonica, Telecom Italia or NEC. In that role, the fellow will oversee a team of two PhD students and visiting interns, and is expected to both to carry out independent, hands-on activities and to coordinate the work of the students towards experimental demonstrations of ML operation at line rate.
