PhD position in the field of Quantum Internet (2 positions)

The NETCOM group is recruiting for two PhD students to join the group and research in the field of Quantum Internet.

The research will target

• Advanced quantum communication technologies, participating in regional, national and EU research projects and also industry collaborations, involving the following topics and tasks:
• Integration of quantum communications in new mobile network infrastructures, 5G and 6G.
• Development of mechanisms for efficient and secure transmission of information in 5G/6G networks, using quantum communications technologies. 
• Research and development of cloud-native approaches for Quantum Key Distribution (QKD)
• Development of a quantum Internet testbed in 5TONIC.
• Development of quantum Internet proof-of-concepts and use cases.

Required skills:

• Degree in Physics, telecommunication engineering, telematics engineering, or equivalent disciplines
• Master degree studies in related disciplines will receive positive consideration
• Proficiency in English is mandatory
• Excellent academic transcripts
• Background in networking and quantum communications (QKD)
• High motivation to conduct a PhD in the area of quantum InternetWhat we offer
