The candidate will work in the NETCOM-lab research Group, led by Albert Banchs.

The NETCOM-lab Group is looking for a Researcher. We are seeking a candidate to develop and maintain a cloud-native ecosystem utilizing Kubernetes and other open-source virtualization solutions, integrating ETSI NFV orchestration, notably OSM. Responsibilities include crafting a communication system for multi-site NFV ecosystems and exploring secure communication solutions, including quantum technology. Additionally, supporting experimentation activities within the NFV ecosystem employing cloud-native technologies.

Skills Required

The position requires knowledge and experience in networking technologies. In particular, the following competences will be valued:

  • Cloud-Native Ecosystem Development:
    • Proficiency in developing and maintaining cloud-native ecosystems.
    • Experience with Kubernetes and other open-source virtualization solutions.
  • ETSI NFV Orchestration Integration:
    • Knowledge of ETSI NFV orchestration, particularly with OSM integration.
  • Communication System Design:
    • Ability to craft communication systems for multi-site NFV ecosystems.
  • Security Solutions Exploration:
    • Familiarity with exploring secure communication solutions, including quantum technology.
  • Experimentation Support:
    • Capability to support experimentation activities within NFV ecosystems.
    • Experience with employing cloud-native technologies for experimentation purposes.

Academic Qualifications

  • PhD in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field
  • Very good research record, with publications in top academic conferences and journals
  • Proficiency in English is mandatory
