Research Engineer position in NETCOM – NETCOM-lab Group

The NETCOM-lab Group is looking for a research engineer to join its research effort on large research infrastructures. The research engineer will work under the supervision of Dr. Albert BANCHS, Dr. Carlos Jesús BERNARDOS and Ignacio BERBERANA. The research engineer will be in charge of deploying, configuring and programming a large research infrastructure, managing the access to it and the integration of the current (and future) services in the SLICES-RI infrastructure. The research engineer will also be in charge of helping researchers to deploy research experiments, performing analysis of research data, and administering the equipment of the SLICES-Madrid research infrastructure.

The position requires competences in:

  •  Programming in Python, Python, Java, C, CSS, Javascript, C++ and other high-level languages.
  •  Web site programming.
  •  Statistical knowledge for data analysis.
  •  Linux system administration.
  •  Network administration.
  •  Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker.
  •  Knowledge on electrical cabling and power meters.
  •  Bachelor in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
