The Global Computing Group headed by Dr. Antonio FERNÁNDEZ ANTA invites applicants for a fully funded PhD position.
The Global Computing Group explores distributed computing systems and social networks in the widest sense. Among others, it has the following lines of research: (i) fault-tolerant distributed ledger technologies; (ii) volunteer and crowd-based computing, with emphasis on game-theoretic aspects; (iii) analysis of networks using big data and machine learning technologies.
Within the line of research on distributed ledgers, PhD student candidates are sought with a strong background on blockchain, game theory, principles of distributed computing, programming, and mathematics. During their PhD, they will devise and develop new techniques and algorithms for systems of lightly-coupled fault-tolerant distributed concurrent objects, and they will implement them as proof-of-concept prototypes.
As a member of the group, the candidate will also have the opportunity to collaborate with top researchers from all over the world in a multi-disciplinary and international environment.
Candidates can contact Prof. Fernández Anta by email for additional information.
