The IAG group at IMDEA Networks is looking for a Research Assistant to join our international team in  the design and development of user-friendly mobile privacy-enhancing tools such as ad-blockers and anti-tracking solutions for Android and iOS.

The candidate will assist the research team, headed by Prof. Vallina-Rodriguez in augmenting the capabilities and usability of privacy enhancing technologies previously developed by the team as part of the Horizon Europe project TRUST aWARE (https://trustaware.eu/). For that, the candidate will be responsible for leading tech transfer and integration aspects, so that other tools and transparency technologies can be integrated in these solutions. Additionally, the candidate will collaborate closely with the research team to design new techniques and develop solutions for software testing that could be later integrated into their research pipelines for software analysis to enhance their accuracy and performance.

Contract duration: 
24 months, renewable based on funds availability and performance.

Requirements:

– Bs.C. or Ms.C in Computer Science.

– Proven experience in Java and Android development, including UI design, is required

– Prior experience in C/C++, RESF-ful APIs (i.e., back-end integration), iOS development will be positively evaluated (e.g., including experience in Linux systems, shell environments and command line tools such as SSH and Git).

– English language fluency is a must.

Eligibility: It is necessary that the applicant have NIF or NIE and a residence/work permit in Spain. Also, the applicant must not have been employed by IMDEA in the SIX months prior to the start date of the contract. These are the requirements from the funding that supports this position.

Candidates must be aged between 16 and 29 and be enrolled as job seekers in the Spanish Employment Offices at the moment the contract is signed.
