Major Event (Highlighted Event)

IMDEA Networks is participating, together with the other IMDEA institutes, in the City and Science Biennial, to be held from February 21-26 at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid.

The institute will present on February 22 a demo in which low-power communication techniques, such as Light-Fidelity (LiFi) and radio-frequency backscatter, are used to deliver data to battery-less IoT sensors that can simultaneously harvest energy from ambient light. Thanks to this battery-free IoT design, the research team discards one of the most polluting elements in this type of devices. In addition, they will tell the audience how the implemented solution is applied to precision agriculture scenarios.
