Objectives of the meeting: Review status of the internal specifications milestones, synchronization intra and inter work packages and coordination for future work.

It is our pleasure to invite you to the Workshop MEDIANET 2013, to be held next April 19, 2013 at University Carlos III of Madrid (Leganes Campus, room 4.1.S08 of the Rey Pastor library). Our main goal is to disseminate the main results obtained up to now in our project, and to present their benefits for all the society. MEDIANET strives for a significant scientific advance in the future media Internet where important advances are necessary to allow end-users to perceive a good quality of experience.

In the context of "Researchers' Night, Madrid 2010 - Creativity for progress in Europe", the IMDEA initiative will take part in the “Why I am a scientist” event, through the participation of directors from each one of the eight member institutes.

Why I am a scientist

Hour: From 18:00 p.m to 19:30 p.m

Why should I consider a future in research? What sort of opportunities does a PhD open up for me? What makes research in the science of networks such an exciting career choice? How can we ensure that the Internet can grow and adapt to ever-changing needs over the coming decades? What lies beyond the Internet? What inspires network research?

The International Symposium on DIStributed Computing (DISC) is an international forum on the theory, design, analysis, implementation and application of distributed systems and networks. It is organized in cooperation with the European Association for Theoretical Computer Science (EATCS). This conference, in collaboration with PODC (the ACM Symposium on Principles of Distributed Computing), awards annually the highly recognised Edsger W. Dijkstra Prize in Distributed Computing and The Dissertation Award in Distributed Computing.
