Especial \u00e9nfasis tuvo sobrela reducci\u00f3n de la huella de carbono que el uso creciente de las tecnolog\u00edas TIC impone sobre el planeta.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">La principal misi\u00f3n del congreso EWSN 2018, clausurado con \u00e9xito el pasado febrero en Madrid,\u00a0 era crear un excelente programa t\u00e9cnico con el foco en los \u00ab<strong>sistemas inal\u00e1mbricos integrados sostenibles<\/strong>\u201d, que cubriera \u00e1reas emergentes y presentase adem\u00e1s de art\u00edculos cient\u00edficos, demos de prototipos, herramientas y sistemas capaces de operar en el mundo real. La investigaci\u00f3n en esta \u00e1rea es importante para tecnolog\u00edas como el <strong>Internet de las cosas<\/strong> y los <strong>sistemas ciber-f\u00edsicos<\/strong>, as\u00ed como para esferas de aplicaci\u00f3n como la <strong>producci\u00f3n inteligente<\/strong>, las <strong>ciudades inteligentes<\/strong> o los <strong>autom\u00f3viles conectados<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">EWSN, un congreso especializado y muy selectivo, cont\u00f3 con la asistencia de m\u00e1s de 120 participantes, entre ellos el Prof. Suman Banerjee de la Universidad de Wisconsin-Madison (EE.UU.), reconocido mundialmente por su trabajo sobre sistemas de redes inal\u00e1mbricas y m\u00f3viles, que fue el ponente de apertura del congreso. EWSN ha sido organizado por la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uc3m.es\/Home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">UC3M<\/a>) junto con el Instituto <a href=\"https:\/\/www.networks.imdea.org\/es\/\">IMDEA Networks<\/a> liderando el esfuerzo organizativo.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">De las cincuenta y tres candidaturas presentadas, tras un riguroso proceso de revisi\u00f3n, diecis\u00e9is fueron los art\u00edculos seleccionados para el programa t\u00e9cnico. Se entregaron premios de una competici\u00f3n sobre confiabilidad en la que nueve equipos internacionales procedentes de la industria y del sector acad\u00e9mico compitieron para demostrar la soluci\u00f3n de red m\u00e1s fiable, de menor latencia y m\u00e1s eficiente en la contenci\u00f3n del coste energ\u00e9tico. As\u00ed mismo se concedi\u00f3 un premio a la mejor publicaci\u00f3n y otro a la mejor demostraci\u00f3n t\u00e9cnica.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/networks.imdea.org\/es\/equipo\/equipo-imdea-networks\/personas\/domenico-giustiniano\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Domenico Giustiniano<\/a>, profesor asociado de investigaci\u00f3n en IMDEA Networks (Madrid, Espa\u00f1a), ha liderado el comit\u00e9 directivo junto con <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cse.buffalo.edu\/faculty\/dimitrio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dimitrios Koutsonikolas<\/a>, profesor asociado del departamento de Ciencias de la Computaci\u00f3n e Ingenier\u00eda de la Universidad de B\u00fafalo (EE. UU.). \u00abLos sistemas integrados y las redes inal\u00e1mbricas desempe\u00f1an un papel clave en m\u00faltiples tecnolog\u00edas que est\u00e1n dando forma a nuestro futuro\u00bb, han afirmado ambos en una declaraci\u00f3n conjunta. As\u00ed, EWSN ha afrontado \u00e1reas de trabajo tan diversas como la mejora de la confiabilidad y la seguridad de los dispositivos del Internet de las cosas, la comunicaci\u00f3n por retro-dispersi\u00f3n, la comunicaci\u00f3n diaf\u00f3nica o comunicaci\u00f3n cruzada, la supervisi\u00f3n de la distribuci\u00f3n de energ\u00eda o las tecnolog\u00edas y arquitecturas de redes inal\u00e1mbricas energ\u00e9ticamente eficientes. Tambi\u00e9n se debatieron propuestas sobre el uso de los sistemas inal\u00e1mbricos integrados para aumentar la eficiencia energ\u00e9tica de las casas, los edificios y las ciudades inteligentes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">El congreso tambi\u00e9n ha incluido dos talleres de trabajo (<strong>RED-IoT<\/strong> y <strong>MadCom<\/strong>) y un panel industrial de reconocidos expertos en bancos de pruebas y pruebas experimentales sobre implementaciones de redes <strong>5G<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">EWSN se estableci\u00f3 en 2004 como el principal evento europeo sobre redes de sensores inal\u00e1mbricos y, desde 2016, se ha llevado a cabo en cooperaci\u00f3n con <strong>ACM SIGBED<\/strong>.
