Madri+d\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><\/a>eciana, Catedr&aacute;tico en University of Texas at Austin (EE.UU.), e Investigador Visitante en IMDEA Networks, el Instituto Madrile&ntilde;o de Estudios Avanzados en Redes, ha obtenido la distinci&oacute;n del Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Grade of Fellow por sus contribuciones al dise&ntilde;o de redes de comunicaciones.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">IEEE es la asociaci&oacute;n profesional de mayor relevancia internacional para el avance y la aplicaci&oacute;n de la tecnolog&iacute;a en el campo de la ingenier&iacute;a el&eacute;ctrica y electr&oacute;nica.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">El grado de IEEE Fellow o miembro de n&uacute;mero se concede s&oacute;lo mediante invitaci&oacute;n de la Junta Directiva del IEEE a una persona de notables cualificaciones y experiencia. Reconoce a de Veciana un nivel de distinci&oacute;n inusual en el desenvolvimiento de su carrera profesional y un extraordinario historial de logros en el campo de la investigaci&oacute;n cient&iacute;fica, que ha contribuido adem&aacute;s a la creaci&oacute;n de significativo valor social. Miembros de este reducido grupo dentro de la comunidad internacional de ingenieros, forman una &eacute;lite que lidera la evoluci&oacute;n global de la tecnolog&iacute;a el&eacute;ctrica y electr&oacute;nica.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">Este renombrado catedr&aacute;tico e investigador enfoca su trabajo en los campos de la investigaci&oacute;n y de la ense&ntilde;anza al an&aacute;lisis y dise&ntilde;o de redes de telecomunicaciones inal&aacute;mbricas y cableadas, arquitecturas y protocolos para redes de sensores y computaci&oacute;n ubicua, y probabilidad aplicada, teor&iacute;a de colas y teor&iacute;a de la informaci&oacute;n.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">Como parte de su colaboraci&oacute;n con IMDEA Networks durante 2008, de Veciana ha dirigido junto a Arturo Azcorra, Director del Instituto y Catedr&aacute;tico de la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, la organizaci&oacute;n de la 4&ordf; Conferencia Internacional de ACM SIGCOMM en experimentos y tecnolog&iacute;as emergentes en redes (ACM CoNEXT 2008), que se celebr&oacute; a principios de diciembre.
