{"id":8028,"date":"2011-03-07T23:00:00","date_gmt":"2011-03-07T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/networks.imdea.org\/el-proyecto-carmen-promueve-la-tecnologia-de-redes-de-malla-de-grado-portador\/"},"modified":"2021-01-08T12:02:58","modified_gmt":"2021-01-08T11:02:58","slug":"el-proyecto-carmen-promueve-la-tecnologia-de-redes-de-malla-de-grado-portador","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/networks.imdea.org\/es\/el-proyecto-carmen-promueve-la-tecnologia-de-redes-de-malla-de-grado-portador\/","title":{"rendered":"El proyecto CARMEN promueve la tecnolog\u00eda de redes de malla de grado portador"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">El proyecto CARMEN permitir\u00e1 prestar servicios con calidad de portadora a trav\u00e9s de redes malladas inal\u00e1mbricas que comprenden diversas tecnolog\u00edas de radio, lo que significa servicios m\u00e1s f\u00e1ciles de desplegar, con mayor disponibilidad y a un menor coste.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">Institute IMDEA Networks, un instituto de investigaci\u00f3n en el \u00e1mbito de las redes inform\u00e1ticas respaldado por el Gobierno de la Comunidad de Madrid, en colaboraci\u00f3n con el grupo de investigaci\u00f3n NETCOM de la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, ha anunciado la finalizaci\u00f3n satisfactoria y con resultados excepcionales del proyecto europeo <a title=\"Enlace externo, CARMEN se abrir\u00e1 en una nueva ventana\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ict-carmen.eu\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CARMEN<\/a> (CARrier grade MEsh Networks), dise\u00f1ado para permitir la prestaci\u00f3n de servicios a trav\u00e9s de redes de malla inal\u00e1mbricas de grado portador que comprenden diversas tecnolog\u00edas de radio. El proyecto se inici\u00f3 a principios de enero de 2008 y concluy\u00f3 a finales de enero de 2011, y cont\u00f3 con la participaci\u00f3n de nueve socios de los sectores p\u00fablico y privado, entre los que hab\u00eda cuatro universidades, tres empresas de telecomunicaciones y dos proveedores de equipos. El proyecto estuvo en sus comienzos dirigido por el Prof. Dr Arturo Azcorra, actualmente en excedencia de su cargo como Director de IMDEA Networks, y despu\u00e9s por Dr. Albert Banchs, Director Adjunto del Instituto.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">Las actuales soluciones de retorno (backhaul) para las redes de acceso por radio consisten principalmente en l\u00edneas cableadas alquiladas o enlaces de radio punto a punto de gran capacidad, pero ambos tipos de soluci\u00f3n son de lento despliegue, caros y no siempre est\u00e1n disponibles. Las redes malladas, por el contrario, son \u00abautorreparables\u00bb, lo que las vuelve muy fiables, y tambi\u00e9n son econ\u00f3micas, reutilizables y bastante m\u00e1s f\u00e1ciles y r\u00e1pidas de desplegar que los actuales sistemas. Estas caracter\u00edsticas las hacen especialmente apropiadas para despliegues graduales o situaciones provisionales, como en el caso de cat\u00e1strofes naturales.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">Entre los logros alcanzados en la arquitectura del proyecto CARMEN est\u00e1n el dar soporte a m\u00faltiples tecnolog\u00edas inal\u00e1mbricas, el uso eficiente de los recursos de radio, la gesti\u00f3n de la movilidad teniendo en cuenta la capacidad, el soporte para servicios de difusi\u00f3n y multidifusi\u00f3n y la capacidad de autoconfiguraci\u00f3n, todo ello posible gracias a la creaci\u00f3n de nuevos protocolos y algoritmos. El \u00e9xito de CARMEN allanar\u00e1 el camino para el desarrollo de nuevos productos inal\u00e1mbricos mallados de calidad portadora, menores gastos de despliegue y de mantenimiento para las operadoras y mejores servicios a menor coste para los usuarios.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">El proyecto ha dado como resultado la creaci\u00f3n de un grupo de estudio especializado en IEEE, 12 solicitudes de patentes distintas de los socios industriales, la publicaci\u00f3n de un RFC y contribuciones a varios grupos de trabajo sobre IETF, 56 art\u00edculos publicados en publicaciones de reconocido prestigio y presentados en talleres y conferencias internacionales, as\u00ed como n\u00fameros especiales de diarios y revistas, comisiones y sesiones y talleres p\u00fablicos.
