Se agrupan bajo el nombre \u201cLPSN Company\u201d, donde cada una ocupa un papel esencial para el desarrollo del proyecto que las ha llevado a San Francisco. Con la ayuda de sus mentores, los Ingenieros en Telecomunicaciones y Telem\u00e1tica, y doctorandos en esta \u00faltima rama, Cristina M\u00e1rquez y \u00d3scar Amador, y el apoyo de su profesora de tecnolog\u00eda Gloria Roig, las cinco j\u00f3venes programaron una aplicaci\u00f3n para m\u00f3viles y crearon un plan de negocio y una estrategia marketing en redes sociales (<strong>@lpsncompany<\/strong>\u00a0en\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/lpsncompany\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Instagram<\/a>\u00a0y\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LPSNcompany?lang=es\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Twitter<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00abWhen &amp; Where\u00bb<\/strong>, la app desarrollada por estas cinco adolescentes, se basa en la tecnolog\u00eda de geolocalizaci\u00f3n para proteger principalmente a mujeres que caminen o corran solas por la calle. La aplicaci\u00f3n, que ya est\u00e1 disponible en Google Play, recoge la ubicaci\u00f3n en tiempo real de la usuaria y, si cree que ha encontrado alguna anomal\u00eda, le pregunta si se encuentra bien. Si no es as\u00ed, permite avisar a la persona de contacto elegida o a los servicios de emergencia. De esta forma, si se produce alg\u00fan problema, la app mostrar\u00e1 la hora y lugar exacto en el que se encontraba la persona en el momento de lo sucedido. Seg\u00fan cuentan ellas mismas en su v\u00eddeo promocional, se inspiraron en los diferentes casos de raptos y asesinatos de mujeres ocurridos en Espa\u00f1a en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_11298\" style=\"width: 1010px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-11298\" class=\"wp-image-11298 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/networks.imdea.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/lpsn_team_uc3m_2019.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"1000\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-11298\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">\u201cLPSN Company\u201d celebran su paso a la final en La Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, donde se celebr\u00f3 la fase regional de la competici\u00f3n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Cristina M\u00e1rquez, que est\u00e1 elaborando su tesis doctoral bajo la supervisi\u00f3n de Albert Banchs, director adjunto de IMDEA Networks, acompa\u00f1ar\u00e1 a LPSN Company a la final del Technovation Challenge, donde solo 12 grupos (6 senior y 6 junior) de 1966 que se presentaron han sido seleccionados para exponer sus propuestas en Silicon Valley, cuna de la tecnolog\u00eda y la innovaci\u00f3n. El equipo espa\u00f1ol competir\u00e1 contra equipos\u00a0de\u00a0Brasil, Kazajist\u00e1n, Albania, India y EEUU.<\/p>\n<p>La participaci\u00f3n de Cristina M\u00e1rquez en el Technovation Challenge refrenda el compromiso de IMDEA Networks con la divulgaci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica y con la promoci\u00f3n de actividades que refuerzan el inter\u00e9s de los j\u00f3venes en el estudio de las ramas cient\u00edfico-tecnol\u00f3gicas STEM (Ciencia, Tecnolog\u00eda, Ingenier\u00eda y Matem\u00e1ticas, seg\u00fan sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s). Ella resume la importancia de estas actividades con estas palabras: \u201cMi labor fundamental ha sido guiar a estas chicas all\u00ed donde necesitaran ayuda, ya fuera en el desarrollo de la herramienta o el c\u00f3digo o en la elaboraci\u00f3n de su mensaje.
