{"id":30103,"date":"2026-06-23T12:11:03","date_gmt":"2026-06-23T10:11:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/networks.imdea.org\/?p=30103"},"modified":"2026-06-23T12:14:18","modified_gmt":"2026-06-23T10:14:18","slug":"imdea-networks-wins-best-poster-award-at-ieee-infocom-for-research-on-future-6g-wireless-systems","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/networks.imdea.org\/es\/imdea-networks-recibe-el-best-poster-award-en-ieee-infocom-por-una-investigacion-sobre-las-futuras-redes-inalambricas-6g\/","title":{"rendered":"IMDEA Networks recibe el Best Poster Award en IEEE INFOCOM por una investigaci\u00f3n sobre las futuras redes inal\u00e1mbricas 6G"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>IMDEA Networks ha recibido el <strong>Best Poster Award<\/strong> en la conferencia internacional IEEE INFOCOM 2026, uno de los eventos m\u00e1s prestigiosos del mundo en el \u00e1mbito de las redes de comunicaci\u00f3n, celebrado este a\u00f1o en Tokio (Jap\u00f3n).<\/p>\n<p>El p\u00f3ster galardonado, titulado \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/dspace.networks.imdea.org\/handle\/20.500.12761\/2014\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">On the Sub-Terahertz 6G+ Cellular System Requirements for Near-Field Operation<\/a>\u201d, analiza c\u00f3mo se comportar\u00e1n los futuros sistemas inal\u00e1mbricos 6G que operen en la banda de frecuencias sub-terahercios (0,1\u20130,3 THz) cuando utilicen antenas de gran tama\u00f1o.<\/p>\n<p>M\u00e1s concretamente, a estas frecuencias los conjuntos de antenas necesarios para la comunicaci\u00f3n alcanzan dimensiones tan grandes que una parte significativa de su \u00e1rea de cobertura pasa a situarse en lo que se conoce como la regi\u00f3n de campo cercano (near-field), donde la propagaci\u00f3n electromagn\u00e9tica difiere de las condiciones convencionales de largo alcance y requiere nuevas estrategias de transmisi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>En los sistemas inal\u00e1mbricos actuales, las se\u00f1ales se dirigen mediante una t\u00e9cnica denominada \u2018<strong>beamforming<\/strong>\u2019, que orienta la energ\u00eda de radio hacia una direcci\u00f3n determinada, de forma similar al haz de una linterna. Sin embargo, en escenarios de campo cercano las ondas electromagn\u00e9ticas ya no pueden aproximarse con precisi\u00f3n como ondas planas, por lo que se ha propuesto un enfoque m\u00e1s avanzado denominado \u2018<strong>beamfocusing<\/strong>\u2019. En lugar de dirigir la energ\u00eda \u00fanicamente en una direcci\u00f3n, esta t\u00e9cnica busca concentrar la se\u00f1al en un punto concreto del espacio, de forma similar al punto de enfoque de una lente, que concentra la luz \u00fanicamente a la distancia adecuada.<\/p>\n<p>El estudio eval\u00faa la viabilidad de este enfoque en despliegues 6G realistas. Mediante un an\u00e1lisis a nivel de sistema basado en la eficiencia espectral, el equipo de investigaci\u00f3n analiz\u00f3 c\u00f3mo se ve afectado el rendimiento por la precisi\u00f3n en el posicionamiento de las personas usuarias y por el retardo de la informaci\u00f3n intercambiada entre los dispositivos y la estaci\u00f3n base.<\/p>\n<p>Los resultados muestran que aprovechar plenamente las ventajas del beamfocusing requerir\u00eda condiciones extremadamente exigentes, entre ellas errores de posicionamiento inferiores a un mil\u00edmetro y retardos de realimentaci\u00f3n inferiores a 0,1 milisegundos.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEstos requisitos, junto con velocidades de desplazamiento de los usuarios\/as muy reducidas, son tan exigentes que podr\u00edan resultar dif\u00edciles de alcanzar en sistemas reales, lo que plantea importantes interrogantes sobre la viabilidad pr\u00e1ctica del &#8216;beamfocusing&#8217; en las futuras redes celulares\u201d, explica <strong>Nadezda Chukhno<\/strong>, investigadora posdoctoral de IMDEA Networks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEl aforismo \u2018Lo perfecto es enemigo de lo bueno\u2019, atribuido a Voltaire, describe perfectamente este trabajo\u201d, a\u00f1ade <strong>Andrea Bedin<\/strong>, investigador posdoctoral de IMDEA Networks. \u201cEl estudio demuestra que el beamforming tradicional, aunque presenta un peor rendimiento en condiciones ideales, mantiene una gran robustez en escenarios de campo cercano porque es menos sensible a los errores de posicionamiento. Como consecuencia, supera al beamfocusing en muchos casos pr\u00e1cticos\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>En conjunto, los resultados sugieren que, aunque el beamfocusing es conceptualmente m\u00e1s avanzado, puede que no siempre represente la soluci\u00f3n m\u00e1s pr\u00e1ctica para los futuros sistemas 6G, en los que enfoques m\u00e1s sencillos como el beamforming podr\u00edan seguir desempe\u00f1ando un papel fundamental.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUna de las principales conclusiones de este trabajo es que el posicionamiento preciso deber\u00eda considerarse un elemento que mejora el rendimiento, y no un requisito imprescindible, ya que es posible lograr un funcionamiento robusto mediante enfoques m\u00e1s simples basados en beamforming\u201d, se\u00f1ala <strong>Olga Chukhno<\/strong>, profesora ayudante de la Universit\u00e0 Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria y profesora visitante en IMDEA Networks.<\/p>\n<p>Este reconocimiento pone de relieve la contribuci\u00f3n de IMDEA Networks a la comprensi\u00f3n de los l\u00edmites fundamentales y de los compromisos de dise\u00f1o que deber\u00e1n afrontar los sistemas de comunicaciones inal\u00e1mbricas de pr\u00f3xima generaci\u00f3n.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"IMDEA Networks ha recibido el Best Poster Award en la conferencia internacional IEEE INFOCOM 2026, uno de los eventos m\u00e1s prestigiosos del mundo en el \u00e1mbito de las redes de comunicaci\u00f3n, celebrado este a\u00f1o en Tokio (Jap\u00f3n).
