Esto tiene enormes ventajas en t\u00e9rminos de latencia, que se reduce de milisegundos en el plano de control a menos de 100 nanosegundos en nuestras pruebas\u201d, explica Marco Fiore, Profesor de Investigaci\u00f3n del instituto y uno de los autores del paper premiado.<\/p>\n<p>En este paper han demostrado c\u00f3mo los modelos Random Forest pueden desplegarse en conmutadores programables modernos para clasificar flujos de tr\u00e1fico de red, es decir, secuencias enteras de paquetes entre dos hosts que pertenecen a un mismo intercambio (por ejemplo, una misma sesi\u00f3n de streaming de v\u00eddeo o descarga de archivos).<\/p>\n<p>De este modo, han avanzado con respecto a los trabajos ya hechos hasta el momento que s\u00f3lo clasifican cada paquete por separado. De hecho, el funcionamiento a nivel de flujo da acceso a nuevas caracter\u00edsticas (por ejemplo, el tiempo de llegada entre los paquetes subsiguientes del mismo flujo) que no est\u00e1n disponibles cuando s\u00f3lo se examinan los paquetes individualmente.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEn \u00faltima instancia, el enfoque a nivel de flujo da como resultado una clasificaci\u00f3n mucho m\u00e1s precisa: alcanzamos una precisi\u00f3n del 99% en el caso de uso de clasificaci\u00f3n de servicios que demostramos, con una ganancia del 8% sobre las soluciones anteriores a nivel de paquetes\u201d, a\u00f1ade Fiore.<\/p>\n<p>La demostraci\u00f3n premiada es el resultado de una exitosa l\u00ednea de investigaci\u00f3n que ha dado lugar a trabajos publicados en IEEE INFOCOM 2023, IEEE MetaCom 2023 y el taller NativeNI co-localizado con ACM CoNEXT 2023.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"El trabajo \u201cShowcasing In-Switch Machine Learning Inference\u201d, realizado por Aristide Tanyi-Jong Akem, Beyza B\u00fct\u00fcn, Michele Gucciardo, Marco Fiore, ha recibido el premio en la categor\u00eda de \u201cBest Demo Award\u201d de la conferencia IEEE NetSoft 2023 celebrada en Madrid del 19 al 23 de junio.
