The madri+d Forum on Communications Technologies is hosted by University Carlos III of Madrid (UC3M) on its Leganes Campus. The conference, "The Role of Europe in Internet Governance", will begin with a presentation on the international research institute, IMDEA Networks, by its Director, Dr. Arturo Azcorra, and will be followed by a speech by Professor Jon Crowcroft, Marconi Professor in Networked Systems at the University of Cambridge.

Information reception to be held at IMDEA Networks’ newly refurbished offices to which all other building dwellers are invited, together with the University Carlos III of Madrid authorities, and NETCOM Research Group members from its Telematics Department, in order to celebrate the completion of the renovation work done in Avenida del Mar Mediterráneo, 22. This is event is prior to the Inauguration Event to be held in the summer.

La Feria Madrid por la Ciencia (The Forum for Science) is a key part of the Programa de Ciencia y Sociedad (Science and Society Program) that the Regional Government of Madrid launched in 2000, through the Dirección General de Universidades e Investigación (Directorate-General of Universities and Research). This Program seeks not only to promote dialogue between citizens and scientists, but also to increase the public’s participation in science.

Institute IMDEA Networks annually holds a by-invitation-only thematic workshop in Madrid. The workshop accompanies a meeting of our Scientific Council comprised of prominent researchers. In addition to talks by Scientific Council members, the workshop includes invited talks by external experts in the research theme of the workshop. The goal of the 2013 event is to foster discussion on a critical aspect of research in networking: 'Reliable Networked Systems'. The workshop will be held on June 5th at University Carlos III of Madrid.

Institute IMDEA Networks annually holds a by-invitation-only thematic workshop in Madrid. The workshop accompanies a meeting of our Scientific Council comprised by prominent researchers. In addition to talks by Scientific Council members, the workshop includes invited talks by external experts in the research theme of the workshop. The 2011 workshop theme is Internet science with a focus on social networking.

Varios miembros y stakeholders de IMDEA Networks Institute lideran la organización del quinto Congreso internacional sobre futuros sistemas energéticos (The 5^th International Conference on Future Energy Systems - ACM e-Energy 2014). Marco Ajmone Marsan y Antonio Fernández Anta son investigadores consolidados del Instituto. Jim Kurose de University of Massachusetts at Amherst (EE.UU.) y Jon Crowcroft, de University of Cambridge (Reino Unido) pertenecen al Consejo Científico. Ajmone, Fernández Anta y Kurose son miembros del Comité Directivo del congreso ACM e-Energy, mientras que Crowcroft es Co-Presidente de la edición de 2014.

WoWMoM 2013 is the 14th IEEE International Symposium on a World of Wireless, Mobile and Multimedia Networks. WoWMoM addresses research challenges and advances towards a world of wireless, mobile, and multimedia pervasive communications.

How can we ensure that the Internet can grow and adapt to ever-changing needs over the coming decades? What lies beyond the Internet? What inspires network research?
