Visible light communications are becoming a major short range wireless communication technology. Incorporating communication into existing lighting infrastructure, VLCs are potential candidate for future indoor communications. In order to facilitate the VLC indoors, it should provide two-way, multiuser and highly efficient VLCs. By making use of RGB LEDs, an efficient bidirectional multiuser VLCs could be implemented. The talk introduces a brief description of color clustered VLCs for smart indoor VLCs. It will cover color clustered high speed VLC, smart home VLC and also VLC-based motion detection scheme. In addition to the indoor VLC, some outdoor VLC experiments will also be presented. The talk will draw a conclusion on what future VLC should look like and what technologies should be developed in the future.
